How does PawSentry tracker work and how does it compare to Airtag?
The PawSentry GPS tracker uses LTE (and later NTN) and GPS technology for real-time tracking and health monitoring. It connects directly to our mobile app, giving you instant updates on your pet’s location and well-being — no phone nearby required.
Unlike Bluetooth-based trackers like AirTag (which only work within ~30 meters and rely on nearby phones), the PawSentry tracker has global coverage and operates independently of mobile phones. While AirTags are great for keys or bags, we do not recommend using them to track pets.
What if I lose my PawSentry tracker?
If you misplace your tracker, you can use the PawSentry app to help locate it. Try the following steps:
- Enable Live Tracking or Refresh position – for the most accurate, real-time location.
- Activate Sound or Light – use the built-in powerful speaker and LED to help you find the tracker nearby.
- You can also use our tracker locator that points you in the trackers direction.
If the tracker is out of range or cannot be recovered (battery is drained)
- You can delete the tracker in the app and transfer your subscription to a new device.
- If you have PawSentry Care, you are eligible for a free replacement — just contact our support team.
Are PawSentry trackers waterproof?
Yes! The PawSentry trackers are IP67 rated, meaning it’s waterproof and can handle rain and swimming.
Does the PawSentry tracker work internationally?
Yes, the PawSentry tracker works in many countries worldwide. Please refer to our coverage list to see
where service is supported.
Before traveling, we recommend checking local LTE network availability to ensure the tracker will function properly at your destination.
For our NTN trackers there is theoretically no limitations.
Will I be notified if pet crosses safe or danger zone?
Yes, if your pet crosses a safe zone boundary, you’ll immediately get an alert on the app. You can then activate live tracking to find them quickly.
Is the PawSentry tracker safe for my pet?
Yes — absolutely. The PawSentry tracker is CE-certified and fully tested for electromagnetic radiation to meet strict European safety standards.
To minimize exposure, the tracker:
- Connects only periodically to Wi-Fi and LTE/NTN networks
- Uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), which has extremely low-power operation and low radiation
- Stays in power-saving mode when frequent updates are not needed
Wearing the tracker is completely safe for dogs and cats, even for extended periods.
How long does the PawSentry tracker battery last?
The PawSentry tracker battery can last up to 30 days in ultra power-saving mode, or up to 15 days in Wi-Fi mode, making it ideal for extended use without frequent charging.
Please note: In power-saving mode, the tracker may have a slightly longer response time, which is completely normal.
Actual battery life depends on how often features like Live Tracking, LED lights, sound alerts, and LTE/NTN connectivity are used.
What does the PawSentry tracker measure and how?
The PawSentry tracker uses built-in sensors to monitor your pet’s movement, sound, and well-being 24/7. It tracks:
- Steps & Activity – See how many steps your pet takes over time
- Calories Burned – Estimate your pet’s energy use
- Resting Heart Rate & Breathing – Measured with high-sensitivity sensors
- Barking & Meowing Patterns – Detects when and how often your pet makes sounds
- Unusual Sounds – Picks up signs of stress like excessive barking or labored breathing
- Sleep Quality – Get insights into how well and how long your pet sleeps
All data is shown in the PawSentry app, helping you ensure your pet is healthy, active, and comfortable — even when you’re away.
Can you manage multiple trackers at once?
Yes! With the PawSentry app, you can manage multiple trackers at once, making it easy to keep tabs on all your pets from one place.
How do I set up the PawSentry tracker?
- Download the PawSentry App from the App Store or Google Play
- Create an account and add your pet’s profile
- Turn on the tracker and follow the in-app steps to pair it
- Choose your subscription plan and you’re ready to go!
- Attach the tracker to your pet’s collar, placing it on the side of the neck. (Make sure arrows point to the sky and speaker to the ground)
Make sure it has good contact with your pet’s neck/throat for accurate readings.
The app will walk you through everything step by step. Most setups take just a few minutes.
Why do I need a subscription?
There’s a subscription fee that covers connectivity and tracking services as our tracker uses data just like your mobile phone, ensuring you always have access to your pet’s location no matter where they are. Please visit our pricing section for more information.
